sharing christmas

Let the years of waking up in my parent's house every year for Christmas come to an end. It was quite sad, but Rod's family made me feel like one of their own and it was a truly wonderful Christmas! We were able to iChat with my family which was nice!

It was quite warm, but didn't come as a surprise as we haven't had much cold weather this winter so far. (I'm totally ok with this, by the way) Christmas Eve all 6 of us loaded up in the 5 passenger Infiniti and drove to Publix to buy groceries for a family in need! This was a lot of fun, and even though the family we intended on surprising with this massive amount of groceries wasn't there, I know the other family we left them with needed them just as much. After this we went home and Rod's mom prepared an awesome Christmas Eve dinner! Rod and I spent the rest of the evening at his friend John Nevel's house. They apparently have a Christmas Eve party every year! Rod hadn't been since High School so I know it was nice for him to see some old friends!

Christmas morning we all woke up around 9 and dumped out the stockings and opened the presents. We followed this with a biscuit, egg, and grits breakfast! The day consisted of remaining in our pjs, watching a movie, napping, and just hanging out. It was awesome!

Today Rod and I were both off work. He drove to New Orleans to watch the Falcons play the Saints, but as I'm writing this Drew Brees just surpassed someone's passing record and the score is 45-16 Saints... :(
I'm sure he's still having a great time, however!

But some of us (me) have work tomorrow, so I'm off to bed! At least it's a short week!!
